ACRE explores the potentials in partnerships between art and agriculture, instigating projects and providing resources.
Lorri Lambert posted a blog postThe short film "Hit me on the head with a raindrop" was launched on the 25 November to a sellout crowd at the Moulamein Bowling Club. The Malcolm McKinnon film highlighted the resilient and innovative community of the small farming town Moulamein in southern New South Wales. Music and art played a significant role in bringing people closer together during the course of one of the most extended and severe droughts in memory. Continue

Further works are of the recent flood waters and new life that has returned to the local red gum forests. Julie believes that she is very fortunate to be an artist who lives in the Mallee,…Continue

Anyone who tried to download the audio of the Artworks Feature about ACRE 2 would have had a slightly abbreviated experience of the full joy. But all is well again and the links all work as they ought. So the story page can be found at: …Continue

To everyone that I met at ACRE 2, and to those that I have yet to meet, thank you for allowing me into the conversation at ACRE 2 last month. As a radio program-maker, I was utterly captivated by the scope and energy of the conversations. As an artist and a rural resident in Sth Gippsland in Victoria, I felt like I was witnessing an epiphany, with rural artists and arts communities really finding the right gear, and throwing off an awful lot of excess urban arts baggage. It felt like a good…Continue

It adds objects/artefacts/installations from our rural lives, to Neils art works which are already at the gallery. We will also be posting our notes taken from the seminar as part of the art and are inviting…Continue

ACRE2 was another day of diverse speakers, case studies and group discussion about 'art inspiring rural communities' - or - 'art in inspiring rural communities'..We'd like to publically thank our speakers, Fiona Woods [who won the 'travelled the most distance to get to a Seminar' award] from Ireland; Neil Berecry Brown from Mangrove Mountain; William Kelly from Nathalia [the town where everyone…Continue
